Hi, I am Stephanie Armand, and this is my story and journey.

I hailed from two countries, Malaysia and Canada, before finally making Melbourne, Australia my permanent home. I spent my younger days in Canada finishing high school Grade 12 in Toronto. Growing up, I was often glued to the TV watching fashion runways and fashion shows.

My Grandpa once asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I told him I loved the world of fashion, photography and film. In our traditional Asian family, his answer was that there were only three things his children and grandchildren were allowed to study. Fashion and film were unfortunately not on that list. He told me to first pursue the path he had laid out for me, reach a certain level of stability, and only then pursue what I was passionate about. As a well-respected patriarch, I dutifully respected his wishes.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting & Banking and Finance) from Victoria University in Melbourne, followed by a UK Chartered Institute of Personnel Development-accredited Master’s in HRM. I spent over a decade in financial services and investment banking, specialising in financial risk management, financial instruments and derivatives trading, SMEs and commercial banking assessments, and financial restructuring.

Along the way, I gained valuable experience in leadership, working under pressure, managing teams and understanding the importance of client engagement. As a former corporate executive, I speak the financial language of numbers and understand the importance of ROI.

Yet throughout those years, my love for fashion and creativity never left. While building my corporate career, I spent my off hours pursuing a Diploma of Fashion Design in Malaysia. I learned how garments are constructed; however, I realised that garment design itself was not my calling.

Over the years, I found a path combining my skills in fashion, photography and film — exactly as I told my Grandpa.

Today, my work brings together both sides of my journey. I carry myself professionally like a corporate executive with a flair for fashion. I approach every project with the creative eye of an artist and the professionalism of someone who understands the value of dependability, reliability and trustworthiness.

I am a qualified professional photographer from an Australian university and currently practise professionally. I continue to learn and refine my skills as an aspiring filmmaker/director, with the goal of better serving my clients. I will continue to update my profile as I complete these milestones.
